How to repair your Pool Cover

Let’s face it. Sometimes accidents happen and pool covers get ripped.

Maybe you’ve caught it on your ladder, or you’ve tried to pull the pool cover out from the reel system, forgetting it’s locked. Maybe the local wildlife have had a go at it?

At our testing centre, we’ve seen seagulls poke holes in covers, cats scratching them, and even our R&D team dropping equipment on them during testing.

If you ever damage a pool cover, you might not want to go to the trouble and expense of replacing it. However, the options for a DIY solution are quite limited. Very few adhesives will bond to the plastic sheet and even fewer will offer a lasting bond when exposed to the harsh environment of a swimming pool.

However, there is now a simple and cost-effective product that offers a lasting and durable solution. Utilising the same HDPE reinforcing material as our Woven Product range, our new reinforced weave repair tape has been developed and tested to offer environmental resistance, tensile strength, and longevity. This tape will help prevent further damage, prolong the useful life of the pool cover, maintain the pools aesthetics, and most importantly prevent loss of vital water resources.

To test this tape, we sent samples to customers around the world to be tested in under high temperatures and UV conditions such as South Africa and even the Palm Springs California to be tested under temperatures up to 40°C / 104°F.

The tape has even proved strong enough to reattach a cover that has be cut across its width.
